A mother binds the family and society together like a thread in a fabric. Mothers hold the family together as anchors while also performing the demanding roles of primary caregivers and educators. Hence, for a mother, the health and socio-economic wellbeing of the family determines the future of the entire family. Community-based organizations like Mother Concern knew about the socio-economic implications and have materially directed their efforts to everyone. This is more than acts of charity; it is a strategic investment in human capital. It stems from the idea that a positive impact begins with an empowered mother, and flows from there. An empowered mother is healthy, educated, and has a steady source of income. Empowered mother’s unleashes a positive impact as a result of enhanced living standards and improved socio-economic wellbeing. An empowered mother is capable of breaking the vicious cycles of poverty and inequalities. Mother Concern operates on the front lines of this crucial work with a holistic approach. And equipping mothers with the tools, support, and resources that enable them not just to survive, but thrive.

NGO for Women: A Foundation for Health: The First Step to Empowerment

Every woman’s journey for empowerment begins with the most basic human right: the right to health. For mothers, this journey often begins many years before the birth of her child. Mother Concern emphasizes maternal and child health and in fact, has developed lifesaving programs for women in marginalized communities. These programs provide comprehensive prenatal care, which includes regular check-ups, vital nutritional supplements, and vital education regarding the pregnancy. With these measures, the risk of pregnancy and childbirth complications is greatly reduced, which aids in saving the lives of mothers and infants.

In addition, the support does not stop at delivery. Postnatal care is just as important as it assists mothers in overcoming the physical and emotional difficulties of recovery as well as caring for the infant. Mothers are taught by trained health workers the breastfeeding, immunization, and early childhood nutritional, thereby ensuring that the infants are provided with the healthiest possible start in life. Last but not least, Mother Concern addresses the unexpressed battles of mental health. The stresses that come with motherhood, particularly in the environment of poverty, compounded by little to no support, can be quite debilitating.

Hence, our organization allocates counseling and nurtures healing spaces where mothers can narrate their stories without judgment, and fosters supportive. Through maintaining the mental and physical health of mothers, Mother Concern ensures that she is strong and stable enough to be the caregiver her family depends on. Physically healthy mothers are able and present to nurture their children, showering them with the affection we need to nurture them towards a promising future.

Building Independence: The Power of Economic and Educational Opportunity

Once a mother’s health is taken care of, the next crucial step towards empowerment is achieving economic independence. When women have financial stability, they gain the freedom to make choices, have a voice, and take control of their lives and their children’s futures. Mother Concern is dedicated to this mission by rolling out strong skill development and vocational training programs. These initiatives are thoughtfully crafted to align with the local job market and the unique talents of women, offering training in areas like tailoring, handicrafts, computer skills, and local entrepreneurship. By providing mothers with practical, marketable skills, the organization paves the way for new income opportunities. But just having a skill isn’t always enough.

Mother Concern also offers extensive support for women looking to become entrepreneurs. This includes workshops on financial literacy, where women learn how to budget, save, and access micro-loans to kickstart or grow their small businesses. This financial knowledge is a game changer, allowing mothers to shift from being passive recipients of aid to proactive drivers of their own economic success. The effects of this economic empowerment are deep and wide-reaching. When a mother earns a steady income, she reinvests it back into her family. She can provide better nutrition, access proper healthcare, and, most importantly, ensure her children receive a quality education. She becomes a role model, showcasing the importance of hard work, resilience, and self-sufficiency. Her daughters, in particular, are more likely to stay in school and chase their own career aspirations. The work that Mother Concern does in this area highlights that empowering a woman economically.

Creating a Supportive Ecosystem: The Strength of Community and Advocacy

Individual empowerment is crucial, but it thrives best in a nurturing and supportive environment. A mother’s achievements are closely tied to the community and societal structures that surround her. Mother Concern truly understands this, which is why a key part of their strategy is to build strong community networks and push for systemic change. We help create women’s self-help groups that act as powerful platforms for collective action and mutual support. In these groups, mothers unite to share their challenges, celebrate their victories, and combine their resources. We become a source of strength for each other, forming a network of friends and allies who offer practical assistance. These groups often transform into influential agents of local change, tackling community issues like sanitation, water access, and children’s safety.

Our organization works tirelessly to campaign for policies that protect and uplift the rights of women and mothers. This includes pushing for improved public healthcare services, advocating for equal educational opportunities for girls. By amplifying the voices of the women they serve, Mother Concern influences policymakers and drives the necessary structural changes to foster a more just and equitable society. This dual approach—building community from the ground up while advocating for change from the top down—creates a truly holistic support system. It ensures that as mothers gain empowerment, the world around them evolves to sustain and celebrate their progress.

Conclusion

The work done by Mother Concern is a powerful testament to the idea that empowering mothers is the most essential and effective way to nurture a brighter future. Our holistic approach, which beautifully weaves together health, education, economic opportunities, and community development, creates a strong and sustainable cycle of positive change. By putting mothers at the center, we tackle the root causes of poverty and inequality instead of just addressing the symptoms.

A healthy and safe mother can raise a healthy and safe child. An educated and skilled mother can ensure her children get a good education. An economically independent mother can invest in her family’s future. And a mother who belongs to a strong, supportive community can help build a better world for everyone. The impact of this work goes far beyond the individual lives it directly touches. It strengthens families, fosters resilient communities, and contributes to a more just, equitable, and prosperous society. The mothers empowered by Mother Concern today are raising the leaders, innovators, and change makers of tomorrow. We are nurturing futures filled with hope, dignity, and endless possibilities, creating a lasting legacy of change that will echo.

Mother Concern NGO for Women Upliftment is working to address this pressing issue in the realm of global development, where everyone is preoccupied with their own affairs.

The Indian Constitution’s Highest Law In other words, the Indian Constitution not only guarantees women’s equality but also gives them the right to take action against gender-based discrimination. In order to accomplish this, we are collaborating with others.

Though our country is in the phase of modernization, women are still addressing many issues, from education to human rights. Mother Concern, an NGO for women, is increasingly taking responsibility for implementing gender equality and women’s empowerment for the development of our pride nation.

In order to change the lives of marginalized women, we are working at the grassroots level to give the essential assistance. To improve their environment, we inform them about different health initiatives and programs.

According to our philosophy, success can always be attained with a happy body and mind. We are all talking about women and their rights in the modern period. But are these rights actually granted to them?

The answer is no! Human rights include the basic necessities of life, such as food, shelter, education, and employment. No matter, whether you have lower status or you have an ample amount of money.

We, as women Ngo, are trying our level best to meet all the needs for their survival. Now, we would like to ask our readers: are you not a citizen of India? It is not your responsibility to contribute to the needs of the needy. We, as a part of society, need to help the deprived class.

It’s crucial to establish a pleasant and healthy atmosphere for the mother because doing so benefits the entire family.

NGO for Women Empowerment

Empowering women is the best growth strategy in India today. Women are working hard to lead their communities and outperform men in all aspects of life. As a result, we must empower women throughout India. Women are disproportionately affected by conflict in rural and urban slum areas. Even their thoughts are not considered before making a decision.

During deliveries, we encountered a number of women who were experiencing this problem. Women’s non-governmental organizations (NGOs) assist such women and girls in society.

The government of India introduces many schemes for women empowerment such as Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Women Helpline schemes and many for. As a moral responsibility, we have taken multiple initiatives.

Let’s have a look at the scheme by Government

One Stop Centre Scheme

These schemes earlier know as “sakhi“scheme. It was launched in 1 April 2015 under Nirbhaya Fund. There are many centers located in various parts of country with to provide shelter, legal and medical help along with this counseling services to the victim of violence.

Naari Shakti Puruskars

To recognize the efforts of women at national level to make a difference especially in the life of marginalized women it’s presented by President of India on every International Women’s Days i.e. March 8 at RashtrapatiBhawan.

SwadharGreh

The scheme launched with the aim to

Provide shelter, food, and clothing, and rehabilitation facility to marginalized women and girls.

Women prisoners released from Jail.

Implementing agencies are mainly NGO.

Safeguard them against Violence

Violence and its devastating effects can reduce by a concerted effort that addresses issues of money, education, health, legislation, and infrastructure. The first and most important issue is that violence against women is unacceptable. In order to prevent violence and support its victims, communities must have a significant role in developing solutions.

Men must also participate in the process as change agents working with women to put an end to violence. The great potential of women and girls could be suppressed if the world does not address the problem.

You will realize how powerful women and girls can be if you can give them a sense of security, empowerment, and support. They are also the starting point for the next big breakthrough and the engine for developing more robust economies.

Here, we are sharing some data shared by NCRB about violence against women

28 lakhs cases registered in 2021 crime against women is increased at a pace of 15.3% i.e. 1 lakh per population.

8% increase in overall crime against women in India.

Maximum no. of cases falls under the Category “Cruelty by Husband or his relatives”.

Assault on women with intent to outrage her modesty is 20.8%.

In an alarming situation in which every 20 women died out of dowry harassment I.e. either murder, suicide or compelled for suicide.

Our organization is providing a helping hand to the victim of violence. We also help them to file the complaint against the abuse and harassment they faced. We see it has a moral responsibility to provide support. The violence against women not only impact her but it impact everyone attached to her life especially her children.

The most crucial and first step in ending violence against women in India is speaking up. In order to provide all of life’s privileges to less fortunate women, we are doing everything we can.

Mother Concern NGO for Women Steps:

Create a Safe Space

Before, anything the foremost important thing is to create a safe space for the women and girls. Not only in school or workspace but also in the house. The report of NCRB in which maximum crime against women done. We need to create a space in their place.

Holistic Development of Society

One of the key concepts for the general development of society in India is women’s empowerment. Participating in the societal growth is not wrong in any way. In the world of corporations, women are taking on a variety of jobs in fields including medicine, engineering, and other fields. They actively participate in the military, naval, police, and other security agencies in addition to the technological sector. The community elevated by all of the aforementioned offerings.

Provide them Employment

According to the World Bank Report, women from 2010 to 2020 are disappearing from the work force. The stats drop from 26% to 19 %. This was disastrous news even before the COVID-19 wave. Half of the population includes women. The misbalance in employment opportunities c eradicated with the assistance of women’s empowerment. To make full use of women’s potential, they should given an equal chance to empower them.

Conclusion

Mother Concern is an NGO for women, and has commenced executing programmes and campaigns concerning women’s empowerment through educating them. Our mission is to empower single women so that they overwhelmed by joy.

Our NGO has strategic framing regarding women’s welfare so that they remain steady their entire life.

There are many evils in our society that have been continuing from ancient times under the name of tradition. It is a well-accepted truth that the dowry system practice in Indian society on the basis of custom. It’s a great evil in our society and the foremost reason for female foeticide in our country. Mother Concern NGO for Women will discuss all this pernicious system and many other concerning factors.

In India, arranging a marriage is no less than a business, as girls force into a system of marriage against their will. As a result, it is similar to a barter system where boys and girls barter on the basis of marriage. As parents, they want her to have a comfortable life, but instead, she falls into the dowry system and faces consequences. Even if the groom’s family does not demand dowry at the time of marriage. However, after marriage, family members, particularly her in-laws, frequently harass her.

Mother Concern NGO for Women has come into contact with many women who are facing this situation. We have even come to know that many have tried to take drastic steps to end their lives. India has a patriarchal society that always faces challenges and is not able to provide a safe environment for girls.

Rape, domestic violence, female foeticide, and child marriages are some of the major problems faced in society. Despite living in the 21st century, endless efforts to stop these harmful activities. Unfortunately, many incidents of heinous crime occur. Even after the government makes unending efforts to eradicate them, society’s rigidity does not change.

NGO for Women: Dowry an Evil to Social Norms

Marriage is regarded as a puro ritual as well as a religious union of souls in Indian society. Dowry practice and malfeasance, which is both legally and morally wrong, have, however, tainted its Holy Communion value. In the last few decades, India has seen the worst situations and circumstances in terms of failings to pay a dowry to the other party, likely to result in marital rape, victim suicides, harassment, and so on, regardless of caste, race, or religion. To put it simply, dowry is the gift of valuable items, wealth, property, and gifts to the groom and his family, as well as the bride, at the time of marriage as safety and forethought.

Previously, this viewed as a symbol and show of support of love, care, and safety granted by the father of the bride as her portion of wealth. Even so, as time passed, the concept, creation, and point of view about dowry shifted, becoming impure and a soul aspect for a female.

The practice, which once thought to be a gesture of love to connect souls and their immediate parents together along with adoration, care, and support, has now become a terrible, utterly terrifying, and horrible disaster for the entire nation and is now enrolled in one of country’s major and concerning forms of violence against women. NGO for Women is very much concerned about the women situation in India in regard to dowry.

NGO for Women Sharing Dowry Stats

The number of crimes registered fell 7.6 percent year on year in 2021. As a result, the rate of crime per lakhs people dropped from 487.8 in 2020 to 445.9 in 2021. Dowry deaths have decreased in the last five years, according to data from the National Crime Records Bureau.

During 2012-16, the average annual number of murders was 32,839, but this fell to 29,010 during 2017-21. Correspondingly, the estimated yearly dowry death rate decreased from 8,005 to 7,093 during the same time period. It is worth noting that Uttar Pradesh and Bihar had the highest number of dowry deaths in India in 2021. Together, UP (2,222 deaths) and Bihar (1,000 deaths) accounted for nearly half (48%) of all dowry deaths across the country.

Causes of Dowry

1. Social Structure

The dowry system is primarily a symptom of Indian society’s patriarchal nature, in which men are significantly better to women in terms of physical and mental capabilities. In the context of such socioeconomic system, women are frequently regarded as second-class citizens, fit only for domesticable roles.

Such perceptions are frequently associated with them being treated as a financial burden, initially by the dad and then by the husband. This feeling is exacerbated by the dowry system, which feeds the belief that a girl child is a prospective drain on family finances.

2. Religious Structure

Religious restrictions that society places on marriage, particularly groom appropriateness, have contributed to the dowry problem. These restrictions do not allow for inter-religious marriages and even marriages between religious sects and a suitable groom must be discovered with the same religious background. These constraints reduce the number of suitable matches. Boys of marrying age with highly desired credentials become a prize, which inspires the practice of the winning price catching the catch.

3. Illiteracy

Another reason for the dowry system’s prevalence is a lack of formal education. A large number of women are purposefully out of schools, either due to superstitious beliefs or the belief that educating girls will diminish their ability to be housewives.

4. Women’s Social Status

The inferior social position of women in Indian society so deeply ingrain n the national psyche. not just the family but also the women themselves acknowledge treating them as just commodities prices without question. When marriage seen as the pinnacle of female achievement, evil practices such as dowry become deeply embedded in society.

Effect of Dowry

1. Injustice towards Women

Girls frequently marginalize in educational settings where family boys prefer. They push into house tasks from a young age. They are subject to a slew of restrictions, including force to stay indoors. Child marriages continue to be practiced because age is a measure of purity. It base on the belief that younger girls mold into domestic roles than older girls. Dowry amounts increase with the age of the girl, fueling the practice.

2. Gender Imbalance

As the number of cases of violence against women and dowry-related deaths rises, so does the malice of sex selection before birth, female foeticide, and infanticide, resulting in a drop in the sex ratio and a gender imbalance with dire consequences for the future. India’s sex ratio at birth and child sex ratio remained far below ideal levels. owing in large part to a choice for baby boys in so many parts of the country. In 2015 and 2016, Haryana had a sex ratio of 833 females for every 1,000 males. States such as Uttarakhand fare even worse in terms of sex ratio.

Laws in India for Dowry

The Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961

Dowry prohibits in India under this Act. The Act also makes it a crime in India to take or give dowry.

Negotiating for a lower dowry from the groom’s side when the bride’s side is unable to meet the actual demand/real deal’ and forcing the bride’s family to meet demands as compensation for marrying their daughter after the wedding are all illegal.

The penalty for violating the anti-dowry law is up to 5 years in prison and a fine of Rs. 15,000 or the value of the dowry given, whichever is greater.

The Indian Penal Code Sections

In India, Section 304B addresses dowry deaths. It states that dowry death occurs if a woman dies within seven years of marriage from any burns or bodily injury.

if it discloses that prior to her marriage, she subjects to abuse or harassment by her husband or any other relative of the husband in connection with the demand for dowry.

Section 498A addresses cruelty. It states that if a husband or any of his relatives creates physical or mental harm to a woman, they are punishable under this section.

Section 113B of the Indian Evidence Act, 1872

The dower death assumption if a woman dies in connection with a dowry demand and demonstrated that any person subjected her to abuse or cruelty shortly before her death, the court will presume that such an individual is accountable for her death.

As an NGO for Women, we see them as the backbone of the country. We must all together stand for them and help them to take a stand for themselves.

What precisely is education? Education is the acquisition of current skills and cultural legacies through learning or study. It is a basic human right to which all men and women or genders have equitable rights. Mother Concern an NGO for Women in this post, we will discuss the significance of women’s education and look at some famous lines from international leaders about women’s education.

Education as a necessity all over the world, but millions of women stay illiterate because of poverty, stigma surrounding them, unequal treatment, a shortage of resources, and other factors. Even if a crime happens to

These crimes will continue until and unless both genders are equally represented. Women must be first educated. This is the initial step toward a bright future. Even in the twenty-first century, many families are hesitant to send their daughters to school or further their education. The Income gap is one of the main motivations for such suspicious thoughts. Many families find it difficult to send their kids to school. Whenever it regards gender, they prefer son’s and therefore can afford girls’ education.

Mother Concern ngo for women sees education play an important role in the society for development and growth. Otherwise, it will lead the economy in trauma making worsening the situation.

NGO for Women: Importance of Women’s Education?

Providing women with access to education is like trying to educate the whole of society because they are more likely to pass on their knowledge to their families. Furthermore, they will learn the value of education and will surrender resources. Ensure that their children attend good schools and colleges to take advantage of the innumerable benefits of higher education.

The NGO for women organizes numerous educational programs and participates in numerous initiatives to encourage them to reach their goals. Irrespective of the fact that the constitution ensures free and compulsory education for all, India has the highest number of illiterate women in the world. Women’s literacy in cities is 64 percent, while rural literacy is just 31 percent.

Apart from this, the government has updated numerous laws and reforms to promote women’s education. They are given assistance that is distributed, and schooling is basically free for children living in rural areas, allowing women to build a foundation. The four walls of a home do not bind their fate. Society should believe that women and men are equal in our eyes. They can continue pursuing their aspirations and compete with men at all stages of their lives.

We must reinforce the advantages of women’s education. The change in the legislation is very much about inspiring women’s education. To eliminate gender discrimination, strict measures taken and the crime should be punished. We must also teach everyone that all women are equal and must be respected. Educated women will be able to make better choices and start making a contribution to the economic advancement of our country.

Reason to Educate Women in India

Across all India’s long history, chauvinistic and religious practices have had a significant impact on women’s rights. Misogynist practices and concepts limit women’s educational opportunities. As a result, harmful gendered roles frequently proclaiming. Every year, 23 million girls abandon their education because their communities are unprepared to do in providing sufficient female healthcare facilities. The lack of education for women is trying to undermine India’s social and economic development.

Fundamental Right

First of all, education is a fundamental right for everyone, and when we talk about everybody, we need to remember women’s involvement in that group. We can’t have so many illiterate women in our society; it would be a huge loss to us. Every girl and woman, whether rich, poor, young, elderly, married, single, widowed or of any other social position, has the right to an education. Education is a human right, not a privilege.

Improve the Literacy Rate

Women account for approximately 63% of the world’s 163 million uneducated young people. Literacy levels will rise as a result of public education, enhancing the growth of developing countries. In India, urban literacy is 64%, while female literacy is 31%, or roughly half.

Get rid of human trafficking

Women are most vulnerable to human trafficking when they are illiterate and poor, in accordance with the United Nations Inter-Agency Project on Human Trafficking. Helping give women opportunities and important skills could have a massive effect on this big issue.

Equal Opportunities in Society

When girls attend schools and colleges alongside boys, the boys become much more knowledgeable about their education for women and are less likely to develop a sense of superiority. As a result, teaching equality and democracy to both men and women.

Political Representation

While women gained the right to vote on an equal standard with men with independence, the path to equal political participation has managed to remain markedly unbalanced. When one considers their participation in political representation, their political absence from democratic processes becomes clear. The 17th Lok Sabha, which represents a record level in terms of women parliamentarians in India, still has a very bad 14.6% female MPs, well below the global average of 25.5%.

Women Education Some Foremost Facts

India is even behind several subs Sahara countries which is a very shameful thing. When we talk about women’s representation in parliament, it remains fixed at 14.4%. Women’s participation as ministers declined from 23.1% to 9% between 2019 t0 2022.

It is unquestionable that the importance of female education is a major issue. Gender equality does not exist, boys and girls must think as a collective. Whenever it relates to national development and development, boys and girls are equally trained. How can we visualize a future of the world brimming with technology, creative thinking, elegance, and advancement in every sector whereas preserving one among our four effective populaces within our multiple borders?

The first and only thing that hinders anyone from attaining it is the fact that it is difficult to accomplish. In contrast, girls necessitate a significant amount of support from family in further to their desire. They need a group that recognizes them, and their family, like every other man’s, must grow.
